| SSUK08 Drumlanrig - mud, mud, mud. |
|

The Single Speed UK 2008 'its not a race, its a rally' was held this year in the grounds of Drumlanrig Castle in the Scottish Borders. The castle has the usual tourist attractions and the slightly less usual onsite bike shop with 50km of excellent trails ranging from 'blue' easy riding to 'black' interesting singletrack.
Callum rode the course on a modified K2 Razorback and Mike 'Hammer' on his Singular 29" wheeled monster.
Singlespeeders are a friendly bunch (you have to be when 250 of them are sharing 4 chemical toilets) and the usual 3 day party went off with the normal 'kenny tipping', ceilidh dancing, creating new niches for the bike industry and that sort of thing.
The race was not as technical as the Worlds last year but actually quite rideable instead. After Kenny downed a beer to signal the start, I felt a bit slow off the line and stopped to watch everyone climb the hill. It wasn't until the now famous Beer Stop (usually hosted by RDS) that I found my legs. In exchange for downing 1/2 litre of beer, you could take a shortcut. I duly downed the beer, handed the empty to another Julie and I was hurtling down the shortcut to be, only temporarily, with the good riders!
great weekend out. The singlespeed worlds are at napa valley in the USA this year. I've decided not to go because of the farce about getting entries - it normally doesn't stop me turning up but the general attitude is that the USA riders take things a bit seriously and won't like loads of Scots turning up unannounced! |

Hope you all had a good holiday season. back to work and major biking season for our southern hemisphere riders and short days for those in the top half. For those in the north it is about time you got the bike ready for spring and get fit after the winter excesses!
We're here to help - ask any questions in the forums - the contactus page keeps getting spammed so I rarely get through all the queries - anyone with ordering problems, email me directly with the paypal address that comes up when you order.

See you there! I think we'll be easy to spot. I'll be riding a black Proflex 856 (32x16 with COR spring and HammerHeads). We'll be up there from Saturday (1st) morning until Monday morning (err, 3rd) - It's going to be a great laugh.
I'll have some springs and elastomers in the car in case anyone happens to want any in the vicinity. Due to the fact that real singlespeeders are not exactly organised, none of us have any entries but we'll no doubt swap some drinks at the bar for some. . .
Look out for photos after the event. Oh, don't bother ordering stuff because we won't be sending gear out until at least Wednesday. |

| Since we started the COR springs, we have been inundated with queries from owners of Proflex 555, 656, 854, 755, 855, 955 and Reptile bikes. Since coil springs will not work on these bikes, we have developed new elastomer replacements for these bikes. See information here. |

We have gone into final testing for our new replacement MCU product called the MCU855. It has been designed to improve the progressiveness of the shock action whilst trying to reduce 'bob'. This will fit the non-ODS shocks that came on the 855, 955 and 656 bikes. Prices to be confirmed...
COR Springs manufacturing has been really slow. I'm really sorry to all those who have been waiting. I am going to kick ass at the factory and also make sure we have a bigger stock (so we don't run out again).
Other MCU's. We get a lot of questions from Proflex 455, 555, Arcadia, Reptile, 755 and so on. We will be working on a solution for these in reverse chronological order. So don't sell the old Proflex yet! |

If you want to chat to other Proflex/K2 Bike owners there is a great forum over at idriders. The forum has a large group of experienced riders who know the technology of these bikes inside out and also where to get parts. Check it out at: http://idriders.com/proflex/
Many of our customers hang out there and there are photos of bikes with various levels of customisation. |
