Long Ride Out

In the northern hemisphere - the snow and ice are melting and the trails are back in form! Todays ride, 52km, 1934m climb!

Sometimes, you have to just get out for a long ride. We've been riding all winter and haven't stopped hitting the trails in the cold dark nights. Today, in central Scotland, the temperature breached 13'C and the sun came out so it was short sleeves (for we are made of stern stuff here) and hit the trails for one of the local epic rides.

I can really recommend the Garmin Forerunner 405. It's a GPS watch that records your progress and downloads your tracks to the computer for further analysis.

Todays run took us along the top of the local range of hills - it's hard to quantify the allure of the big hills. The danger, the single malt whisky after climbing vertical 720m, the ancient castle nestling in the hills - come to scotland, we have the best mountain biking on earth.
