HammerHead Disk Brake Adapters
The HammerHead range of disk brake adapters allow you to retro fit modern performance disk brakes to your old Proflex/K2 Bike frame that does not have disk brake lugs on it. The adapters are made from a top quality steel that has been specially designed to:
- Not to transfer heat to the frame; important for carbon frames
- To be very strong
- Not to fatigue over time
The HammerHead adapters work with International Standard disk brakes (the most common standard) - Our customers use: Hope, Formula, Magura, Grimeca, Shimano, SRAM and even Hayes with the Hayes adapter.

Fitting the HammerHead
We have full instructions that are included with the kits and also are downloadable as PDF from this website. Some of the kits require a neat hole to be drilled in the frame - we include instructions and a very high quality drill bit and tap so that a neat hole can be made and a thread cur into it. We provide these tools to make sure that the hole is absolutely perfect fit. we also supply top quality steel bolts and spacer kits for your bike.

Which HammerHead?
Identifying your bike can be sometimes tricky because Proflex/K2 Bike weren't always consistent with the numbering/naming of the bikes! The hardest differentiation is the Proflex Beast and Animal range of which there were 3 variations over the years. When selecting a HammerHead, get in touch with us and ask questions to make sure you have the right kit.
